MEET THE BAND

Keith Gerson
keyboards, singer
President & Chief Operating Officer, PuroClean (PuroSystems, Inc.)
kgerson@purosystems.com

Founding member of Vantage Point and band manager, Keith has been a recording artist and began his career in Los Angeles playing in some of LA's most reknowned bands and showcases such as the Whisky, the Troubador and the Pilgrimage Theatre in Hollywood.

Keith is classically trained, but became mesmerized by the unorthodox styles of Jerry Lee Lewis, The Doors and progressive rockers like Emerson, Lake & Palmer and YES leading to an incredibly developed ear and strong skills in improvisation. Keith is authentic in nearly every style of music that he plays. Though he left a full-time career in music back in the 70's he has continued to play on weekends with his wife Marilisa ever since.

A musician of the 60’s surf sounds and Liverpool invasion, Steve performed in NJ rock bands playing guitar and singing the harmonies of the Beach Boys, Beatles, Byrds and Stones. During the 70’s he wrote and produced radio jingles, corporate theme music and songs in the New York and Chicago markets.

Matt Alden

Managing Partner
Kiekenapp & Associates, LLC
matt@franchisesystembuilders.com

Matt Alden is a self-taught rock drummer who has played in a bunch of fun bands since his high school years. After shedding the heavy metal mullet and heading to college he moved on to play in a power trio featuring guitar-driven instrumentals and classic rock/blues remakes before settling in with a "rock, rhythm & blues" working band after graduating. Matt and his wife, a vocalist, next hooked up with a great guitar player, sax player, and too many different bass players to name or describe and continued to play bars and parties until starting their family in 1998. About 9 years later, they got the band back together and have been playing actively again since as time and schedules permit.

Many teenagers of the 60’s era were inspired by bands like the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and many others. The Beatles blew open the door by really being the first successful group to write their own songs and play their own instruments. The hysteria that they, and other bands, created worldwide caused many a young adult to want to experience that sensation and everything that came with it. Music stores were flooded with orders for guitars, amps, and drums. Neighborhood garages were filled with the sounds of young beginners doing their best to copy songs of their favorite groups. I was no different. Affected by the rock n roll craze that was sweeping country, my fist band was formed in 1966; aptly named “This End Up”.

We played mostly in local teen centers and dance halls around town. Band member parents took on the role of chuffers and roadies.

The high school years brought on a number of bands “THE BAND”, “THE JAM” ” to name a few. These bands would play High School gyms and Fairs in Northeastern Wisconsin. During my post high school and college years (mid to late1970s) I for the most part preformed as a utility player, filling in as needed with a number of bands. However this lead to an opportunity to open for national act.

Currently, I will get together with a group of friends with roots from the 1960’s Rock N Roll band called The Undecided, This group will still perform for special event and charities.

Ron Taylor, second to the right.

Ron Taylor
Bass, Vocals
Vice President of Franchising
Sandler Training

“Ron was born singing” so his mother said. At age 4, as part of the “Singing Taylor Family”, his older sister complained that Ron was stealing her harmony parts. He toured with his family, singing country and gospel music until the early 70’s when he decided it was a time for more music education. Ron went to college in Des Moines, Iowa as a music major. During that time he sang in “local Rock bands” singing the songs of Cream, Mountain, Led Zeppelin and others.

In the mid 70’s Ron was invited to join a Las Vegas Show Band called the “Fuller Brothers”. He toured the U.S. and Canada as their bass player, singer and vocal arranger for 5 years.

A fter retiring from road life Ron continued to sing while working for a franchise company in Waco, TX.

Just when Ron thought his music career was over, he won a Karaoke competition for the state of Texas and found himself back in Las Vegas singing again.

Since then he has returned to his Gospel roots and has led Praise and worship at several mega churches in Texas and Maryland.

He “still has the chops” says his 30 year old son Ryan who sings a lot like his father.

Ron’s musical influences are The Eagles, Chicago, Steely Dan and Israel Houghton.

Marilisa

guitar, singer
Vantage Point

The saying that "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" certainly applies to Marilisa. Her Father played violin for the New York Philarmonic Orchestra, inspiring her to play and ultimately become the position of first chair violinist at the Junior High School while still in primary school. It was inevitable that Marilisa would turn in her violin for a Fender Stratocaster given to her by her dads friend and neighbor - Leo Fender personally.

Marilisa turned her love for rock music into a featured role with an all-girl rock band. Her first single charted in the top 10 in markets such as Northern California where she and fellow bandmates were signed by the West Coast Management of the Rolling Stones to open for the famous band.

Marilisa has made numerous appearences on nationally syndicated television. She has a professionally trained voice and has worked with Maestro David Kyle (vocal coach to Heart) and master voice coach & legend Dean Kaelin, vocal coach to many recording artists and American Idol finalists. Marilisa is married to fellow "Franchise Allstar Band" member Keith Gerson.
